The Principle village on the Roseland Peninsula is St Mawes, a village that does get very busy during the summer months particulaly in July and August. St Mawes itself is very popular with watersport enthusiasts and has a variety of water based sports available to visitors from sailing and yachting to kayak and canoe hire. The village has two beaches and excellent facilities for visitors. Other villages on the Roseland Peninsula include :
Portloe – A small fishing villages surrounded by dramatic cliffs, home of the Lugger Hotel.
Tregony – Often called the gateway to the roseland peninsula
Philleigh – A small hamlet in the heart of the Roseland
Veryan – Centrally located on the Roseland Peninsula
St Mawes – At the end of the Roseland.
Along the coast from St Mawes is Portscatho, another small fishing village that also gets very busy during the summer months although probably not as much as St Mawes. Portscatho is again, very active on the water and they hold a Regatta every year. The village has two good pubs, the Plume of Feathers in the main square and the Royal Standard at the top of the hill in Gerrans.
